Young reseachers seminar 2009

The YRS 2009 took place in Torino, Italy on 3-5 June 2009.

The YRS09 Organising Committee is very pleased to present you the 3 Winners of YRS09:

BEST ORAL AND WRITTEN PRESENTATION AWARD:
Johan OLSTAM, VTI, Sweden: “Combining autonomous vehicles and controlled events in driving simulator experiments”

First runner up:
Agathe Backer-Grøndahl, TØI, Norway: “Healthy driving: a study of drivers’ health condition and relative crash risk”

Second runner up:
Aurélien DURET, INRETS, France: “Measurement of variability involved in the car-following rules”

This seminar offered the opportunity to extend the network of young transport researchers belonging to ECTRI, FEHRL and FERSI members. Moreover young researchers were able to improve their presentation skills in written and oral scientific communication by tutorial means and on a retroactive basis.

Transport Research Domains

The seminar focused on following research domains:
- Transport economics and transport behaviour
- Transport sustainability and environment
- Transport safety
- Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
- Transport Road Engineering
- Rail
- Traffic

These domains were presented in workshops.

Target group

YRS 2009 was meant for young researchers who work at organisations that belong to ECTRI, FEHRL and FERSI. They were preferably post doctorates (less than 5 years working experience) and their work field covered one of the research areas.
