TRA 2024

Support for the organisation of the TRA2024 conference

TRA, the Transport Research Arena, is the foremost European transport event that covers all transport modes and all aspects of mobility. It is the largest European research and technology conference on transport and mobility.

In 2024, TRA takes place in Dublin, Ireland. The theme for TRA2024 is “Transport Transitions: Advancing Sustainable and Inclusive Mobility”.

TRA offers a great venue for researchers, policymakers and industry representatives to get together and contribute to the discussion on how research and innovation can reshape the transport and mobility system. The conference provides a unique opportunity to hear about mobility trends in different parts of Europe, learn from achievements in the industry as well as share best practices of policies and deployments.

An important aspect of TRA2024 is that for the first time the TRA Visions researcher competition is fully integrated into the TRA Conference. The three competitions, to be announced at the TRA stage,  will cover all transport modes in line with the TRA themes:

A Young researcher competition with the goal of stimulating the interest among young researchers and students in the field of transport;

A Senior researcher competition in the field of innovative transport concepts based on results only from EU-funded projects.

A special award for honouring a “very” senior researcher  who has through the years made an outstanding and well-recognized contribution to transport-related research and innovation in their respective field. Someone who has, throughout their career, demonstrated groundbreaking and future-oriented views and research.

The conference will take place from 15-18 April 2024, at the RDS, Dublin, Ireland
