In cooperation with FEHRL and FERSI, ECTRI initiated the bi-annual Young Researchers Seminar (YRS). It offers the opportunity to a network of young transport researchers from Members of ECTRI, FEHRL and FERSI as well as from research organisations across the US to gather and interact during the three-day seminar, where young researchers are able to improve their presentation skills in written and oral scientific communication by tutorial means. The tutoring is done by senior researchers who themselves are acting in a truly international scientific culture. A dedicated Task Force (TF Young Researchers Seminar) is established for each edition in order to guarantee knowledge transfer and support the seminar’s host institution.
TRANSPORT RESEARCH DOMAINS
The seminar focuses on following indicative research domains:
- Transport economics, policy and transport behaviour
- Transport sustainability and environment
- Transport safety
- Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) & Traffic management
- Transport civil and road, rail or maritime engineering
Papers dealing with electrification, digitalization & connectivity, autonomous & unmanned transport systems, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) will be given particular attention and focus for this Seminar.
Please note that only abstracts from young researchers coming from: ECTRI, FEHRL, FERSI, EURNEX, HUMANIST and WEGEMT Member institutes as well as from TRB will be accepted.
TARGET GROUP
YRS 2019 is meant for young researchers working at institutes belonging to ECTRI, FEHRL, FERSI, TRB, EURNEX, HUMANIST and WEGEMT. The young researchers are incited to participate by their own institutes. They are novice researchers, post Master graduates/PhD students and are involved in one of the aforementioned research domains.
Attention will be put on ensuring a balanced representation among the institutes.
ORGANIZER OF THE SEMINAR 2019
The Seminar will be hosted by the Hellenic Institute of Transport (CERTH-HIT).
This Seminar is supported by the SKILLFUL project which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 723989.
