On June 21, 2024, the ECTRI Thematic Group on Economics & Policy hosted an insightful webinar featuring Florian Wozny from DLR.
He presented his study on the pass-through of air passenger taxes, using Sweden’s tax implementation as a case study. The research showed that the tax was quickly and almost completely passed through to passengers, with greater incidence in competitive markets and lower demand elasticity. This resulted in fewer passengers, reduced air transport capacity, and lower global emissions.
