The 2020 Summit under the theme Transport Invocation for Sustainable Development, aimed at exploring the benefits to transport and mobility brought by the recent advances in new technologies and business models to enhance the accessibility, safety, and efficiency of transport infrastructure and services. The discussions focused on how innovation in transport could contribute to achieving the goals set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and what governance framework is needed to enable this.
ECTRI contributed to the programme of the 2020 Summit, by providing inputs to ITF’s priority issues and how to address them during the ITF Stakeholder Consultation Day, on January 28, 2020. ECTRI was glad to contribute to the Summit discussions on how recent advances in new technologies and business models can enhance the accessibility, safety and efficiency of transport infrastructure and services. Furthermore and by extension contribute to achieving the goals set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and what governance framework is needed to enable this.
The event planned to take place on 27-29 May in Leipzig, Germany was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
