ECTRI welcomes the opportunity to share its feedback on the Work Programme for the ITS Directive as part of the European Commission’s public consultation, launched on July 29, 2024, and closed on August 26, 2024.
ECTRI views the ITS Directive Work Programme as a crucial tool for enhancing the integration of the European transport system, promoting sustainable and multimodal mobility across Europe.
To support this vision, ECTRI recommends leveraging research from Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, fostering stronger cooperation among stakeholders, and addressing potential rebound effects, such as induced traffic, that could undermine GHG reduction and traffic safety objectives.
