The PIONEER Alliance, led by ECTRI Member Université Gustave Eiffel and including UNIZA, has been chosen as one of the 64 European Universities Alliances to receive Erasmus+ funding.
Comprising 10 universities focused on impact, the PIONEER Alliance represents over 130,000 students and 17,000 faculty and staff across Europe. It leverages shared expertise in urban development and ecosystem co-creation.
European Universities Alliances allow students to study and work in multiple European countries, languages, and disciplines, thereby enhancing the appeal and competitiveness of Europe’s higher education. They also foster regional innovation through collaborations with academics, researchers, enterprises, cities, authorities, and civil society organizations.
Each of the 14 new alliances will receive up to €14.4 million over four years to promote academic collaboration and innovation.
From 2025 to 2028, the PIONEER Alliance will concentrate on sustainable development and urban planning. More information can be found here.
