Following the traditional format, yet adapted to the current circumstances, this year’ event took place in Portorož, Slovenia, hosted by the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport of the University of Ljubljana. It gathered 38 young researchers, 19 tutors, Steering and Organising Committee’ members attending in person and some online.
Congratulations to all the researchers for their commitment and determination in improving their written and oral skills. A special acknowledgement goes to the three best papers and presentations:
- Talita de Freitas Alves (UNI EIFFEL, France), Thermomechanical behaviour of bituminous layers containing rigid inserts for eRoads: first numerical approach
- Leon Strassguetl (BASt, Germany), Effectiveness of Advanced Emergency Braking Systems in trucks: an analysis of rear-end collisions on motorways in Germany
- Doron Hekič (ZAG, Slovenia), A review of B-WIM as a SHM application on bridges
This year edition proved that the YRS continues to be a great platform for exchanging ideas and knowledge between young researchers, and also for them to network and to practice presenting scientific work in a friendly (and safe!) environment.
Final thanks go to the tutors, to the Steering and Organising Committee, to the supporting organisations FERSI, FEHRL and ECTRI and their respective Members that contributed to the success of this Seminar.
