Task Force – ECTRI-TRB

The scope and objectives of the ECTRI-TRB Task Force include implementing the a 2-year action plan resulting from the ECTR-TRB Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2006.

The ECTRI-TRB action plan consists of:

– Action 1: Improving information exchange between the two sides on potential for research project participation and funding in each side from researchers of the other side

– Action 2: Promotion of the implementation of the WG10 Report and recommendations

– Action 3: Information dissemination in the US about the ECTRI’s Young Researchers Seminars (co-organized with FEHRL and FERSI) for possible participation of US young researchers.

– Action 4: Exchange of information about membership slots in TRB Committees and ECTRI Thematic Working Groups. Dissemination and update of such information as appropriate

– Action 5: Organization of ECTRI – TRB sponsored events in the TRB Annual Conference and corresponding European events (e.g. the TRA or ETC).

– Action 6: Planning support for scanning tours of European (ECTRI members) or US research managers to leading transport related sites (research institutes and/or Organisations) in both sides as the case may be.

– Action 7: Participation of US experts in the ECTRI sponsored projects.

– Action 8: Establishment of an annual “MoU Activities Review Meeting – MARM” in order to review activities and update current Action Plans, and decide future activities and prospects. The MARM would be held every year during the TRB Annual Conference.

Besides ECTRI, a number of Members are involved in various actions in this Task Force.
